What’s most impressive about Metropolitan models is the exceptional quality of their craftsmanship—both cosmetically and internally. The motors, gearboxes, and drive assemblies are top-tier, showcasing unparalleled precision. Every component is constructed from durable materials like steel, brass, and die-cast metals. Their gearboxes, in particular, rank among the best we've ever encountered.
New models on the market today simply cannot compare to the quality of the handmade brass models from the 1970s and 1980s. Back then, craftsmanship and premium quality were the highest priorities for Metropolitan and many other brass model brands of the era.
